University of Northern Iowa hosts “Bully”

Panel at UNI "It Takes A Community" May 1st on campus

The Center for Violence Prevention at UNI hosted a day long series of events May 1st, 2012 prior to an evening screening of “Bully” at the Marcus Square Theaters in Cedar Falls, with director Lee Hirsch and producer Cynthia Lowen.

A panel discussion called “It Takes A Community” was held on campus prior to the screening, moderated by Dr. Alan Heisterkamp, consultant to Waitt Institute and director of the MVP leadership training Institute at UNI. Panel members included Lee Hirsch, Cynthia Lowen, Cindy Waitt, ┬áhazing expert Dr. Jennifer Waldron of UNI, professor of family studies Dr. Michael Fleming, Waterloo assistant superintendent Dr. Willie Barney, professor of educational leadership Dr. Nick Pace, and Dr. Carolyn Hildrebrandt, head of the psychology department at UNI.
